Benefits of having a portable grill on the balcony

Balcony grills are compact cooking equipment designed for use in small spaces (balconies, terraces, small patios). They differ from traditional grills in terms of their size, temperature control of temperature and lower smoke emission..

These are just some of the benefits of portable grills:

  • Roasting regardless of the size of the spaceOur models Angus models are made to stand on a countertop or with a wheeled base, ideal for narrow balconies.
  • Ready for urban lifestylesQuick start, simple maintenance and zero fuel logistics: plug and cook.
  • Portable and easy-to-install optionsThe Angus E360 (1700 W) and the Angus E480 (1800 W) are countertop or base-mounted; the Angus E480 Angus E480 Dimmer adds precise temperature control.
  • Ideal for coexistenceAs they are electric, they do not consume wood/coal y do not generate smoke as a traditional grill, ideal for coexistence in consortiums (always respecting the rules of the building).

Useful data: 1700 W ≈ 7,7 A and 1800 W ≈ 8,2 A at 220 V. Verify that your circuit supports that current and, if you can, dedicate an exclusive outlet for the grill.

At Tromen we develop lines with stainless steel lids and grease traysmodules of grill + griddle and, in the case of the electric ones, with the option of temperature regulator (dimmer) for precise cooking without depending on wood or charcoal.

Safety aspects to be taken into account

  • Ventilation and clearances: Use them outdoors (balcony/terrace) with good air circulation. Leave clearance from walls and railings, and support them on a firm and stable surface.
  • Electrical installation: Use a 220 V outlet in good condition, without extension cords and with an independent thermal key whenever possible.
  • Floor protection: If your balcony is made of wood or delicate ceramic, add floor plates to insulate heat and grease. In Tromen we have 2 mm floor sheeting and INOX floor sheeting.
  • Tidiness and storage: For wood/coal fired equipment (if allowed), the Runko Modular Woodshed helps you keep everything organized and safe.

Important: each building has rules. Check the rules of the consortium and local regulations before buying.

Firewood grills (small format)

If your building allows it and you want smoke/traditional flavor, the Chulenguito is compact among wood-fired grills: Enameled grill, lid with handle and base with refractory bricks (95×110×60 cm; 37 kg). Remember that it produces smoke.

Electric grills (most recommended for balconies)

  • Angus E360: countertop, 1700 W, stainless steel lid/griddle. Option with base. It does not have temperature regulator (it works "on/off" type). Dimensions (countertop): 36.5×24.5×50 cm; with base: 60×104.5×53 cm.
  • Angus E480: countertop, 1800 W, grill + griddle module. Dimensions: 48×25×50 cm. Option with base: E480 with base (52×104,5×54 cm).
  • Angus E480 Dimmer: adds temperature regulator (ideal for "marking" meats and lowering to medium heat for vegetables/cheese). You can also choose it with base and wheels with removable side table.

Tips for choosing the ideal grill

Depending on the size of the balcony

  • Very small (depth ≤ 1 m): E360 countertop on a Runko 83 or similar table (Runko 83 Table measures 83×83×76 cm).
  • Small/medium: E480 with countertop or E360/E480 with base (they have 104.5 cm HEIGHT and reduced footprint).

Depending on use

  • Intimate barbecues (2-4 persons): E360: fast, simple, without regulator.
  • Family, group of friends and versatility: E480 Dimmer: better temperature control + griddle for veggies, provolettes and smash burgers.

Depending on the "fuel

  • Electric (recommended for balcony): plug and play; no smoke like wood and faster cleaning.
  • Firewood (only where permitted): more ritual and smoky flavor, but smoky and more logistics (lighting, ashes). Chulenguito is the compact alternative.
